The total weight of the brand-new 45mm wheelset is an impressive 1,270 grams, thanks to the integration of our very own BikeBeat SuperLight Ratchet hubs. These newly developed BikeBeat hubs are extremely low-maintenance, with standardized bearings that can be replaced through us or at any bike shop. Front wheel: 2x 6802 | Rear wheel: 1x 6802, 1x 15267 | Freehub: 2x 6802. We use SAPIM CX Ray steel spokes rather than carbon – for a simple reason: everyone knows, has, or can handle SAPIM CX Ray spokes, making replacements quick and hassle-free if ever needed.

I’ve had a pair of Überflieger Prototype Disc wheels for a year now and I’m thrilled with them. I’ve owned three pairs of competing wheels from major brands with a similar rim profile (45mm), and the Bikebeat is the lightest of them all. Initially, I was worried about the stiffness, but that’s not the case at all. For my amateur level, they’re incredibly responsive and efficient in all situations. I live in the Alps and have no trouble tackling rides with 3000 meters of elevation gain. The rim has a particularly high-quality finish, and the carbon layup is clearly top-notch. I did have to go through the after-sales service process for the rear rim, which was a bit lengthy, but I must admit the problem was handled efficiently, and I received excellent communication.
