The Freigeist was developed for riders who do not want their wheelset to define where they can ride.

Fast road sections, broken asphalt, gravel tracks, long-distance routes or fully loaded bikepacking adventures – the wheelset combines low weight, tyre volume, stability and serviceability in one highly versatile platform.

It is not a pure road wheel made stronger for gravel. And it is not a heavy adventure wheel made lighter for the road.

The Freigeist sits deliberately between these categories.

40 mm depth – speed without compromise

A 40 mm rim depth creates an excellent balance between aerodynamic efficiency, low weight and predictable handling.

It is deep enough to provide a meaningful aerodynamic advantage at speed while remaining manageable on exposed roads, gravel sections and long-distance routes where conditions can change quickly.

Whether you are riding fast on asphalt or maintaining momentum across open gravel roads, the rim profile is designed to carry speed without making the wheelset unnecessarily heavy or demanding.

25 mm internal width – one platform, countless setups

With a 25 mm internal rim width, the Freigeist creates a modern tyre platform that works across an exceptionally broad range of applications.

Fast 30 mm road tyres, high-volume allroad setups or wide gravel tyres up to 62 mm can all be combined with the same wheelset.

The wider tyre bed supports modern tyres more effectively, allowing them to develop a stable profile while creating additional volume for lower pressures, improved traction and increased comfort.

One wheelset. Different tyres. Completely different bikes.

1,330 g – built for adventure, tuned for speed

Versatility often comes with additional weight. The Freigeist takes a different approach.

Despite its strong carbon rim, wide tyre platform and exceptionally high system weight approval, the complete wheelset weighs just 1,330 g.

That low rotating mass keeps the bike responsive when accelerating, climbing or changing pace – an advantage that remains noticeable whether the bike is unloaded or carrying additional equipment.

150 kg system weight – ready for bikepacking

Bikepacking places very different demands on a wheelset than a normal road or gravel ride.

Rider weight, bike, bags, equipment, water and luggage all contribute to the total system load.

The Freigeist is therefore approved for a maximum system weight of 150 kg, creating additional reserves for riders who want to travel with luggage without switching to a heavy touring wheelset.

Strength where you need it. Low weight where you feel it.

Built around modern tyre volume

More tyre volume does more than increase comfort.

On rough surfaces, lower tyre pressures can improve traction and control while helping the tyre absorb vibration and surface irregularities before they reach the rider.

The 25 mm internal rim width gives modern road, allroad and gravel tyres the support they need to make effective use of that additional volume.

The result is a setup that can remain fast on smooth roads while becoming significantly more capable when the surface deteriorates.

Hooked rims – not hookless

All BikeBeat road and gravel rims use a traditional hooked bead design.

The Freigeist is therefore not hookless and can be used with conventional clincher or tubeless setups within the approved tyre and pressure specifications.

For us, versatility also means giving riders freedom when choosing tyres, tubes and tubeless systems.

System stability – BikeBeat SuperLight hubs

At the centre of the Freigeist is the BikeBeat SuperLight Ratchet Straightpull hub platform.

Combined with proven SAPIM CX-Ray spokes, it creates a lightweight and durable wheel system designed around direct power transfer, reliability and long-term serviceability.

Bearings, spokes and freehub components remain individually replaceable and serviceable.

Because an adventure wheel should not become disposable when one component eventually wears out.

Understated carbon. Distinctly Freigeist.

The Freigeist deliberately uses a classic matte carbon finish.

Clean, technical and understated, it gives the wheelset an almost old-school carbon appearance while remaining unmistakably modern in its proportions and performance.

It does not need oversized graphics to attract attention.
