Modern gravel is getting faster – and the wheel system has to keep up. The Gravel Speed AERO 55 combines a deep 55 mm aerodynamic rim profile with an ultra-wide 32 mm internal width, creating a platform designed around modern high-volume gravel tyres.
At just 1,290 g per set, it delivers the stability and tyre support of a massive gravel rim without turning the bike into a heavy, sluggish system. The result is a wheelset built to carry speed over rough surfaces while remaining responsive when the pace changes.
Aerodynamics on gravel are not created by rim depth alone. The tyre and rim have to work as one system.
With a 32 mm internal width, the Gravel Speed AERO 55 gives modern gravel tyres a broad and stable base. This allows high-volume tyres to develop a supported profile instead of becoming excessively rounded on a narrow rim.
The result is improved tyre stability, more predictable handling and a platform designed for the lower pressures used in fast gravel riding.
Wide enough for modern gravel
The 32 mm internal width opens up an exceptionally broad range of modern gravel tyre setups. From fast 40 mm race tyres to significantly higher-volume options, the rim provides the foundation for adapting the wheelset to course, surface and riding style.
More tyre volume allows lower pressures, increasing grip and control while helping the tyre absorb rough surfaces more effectively.
Instead of fighting the terrain, the tyre can work with it.
55 mm depth – built to carry speed
Fast gravel is no longer only about low weight. As speeds rise, aerodynamic efficiency becomes increasingly relevant.
The 55 mm rim profile is designed for riders who spend significant time at speed – on open gravel roads, fast descents, rolling terrain and race courses where maintaining momentum matters.
The deep profile works together with the wide tyre platform to create a wheel system focused on high-speed efficiency rather than simply adding rim depth for visual impact.
Massive geometry. Surprisingly low weight.
A 55 mm deep rim with 32 mm internal width creates a substantial carbon structure. Normally, that comes with a significant weight penalty.
At just 1,340 g per set, the Gravel Speed AERO 55 remains remarkably light for a wheelset of this size.
That means you get the stability and aerodynamic potential of a deep, ultra-wide gravel platform without sacrificing the responsive acceleration expected from a performance wheelset.
More support. More control.
A wider tyre bed supports the tyre casing more effectively under lateral load. This becomes especially noticeable when cornering at lower pressures, where a narrow rim can allow the tyre to deform more heavily.
The broader 32 mm platform helps keep the tyre stable and predictable – improving confidence when speeds increase or the surface becomes rough.
Lower pressure without losing precision
One of the biggest advantages of modern high-volume gravel tyres is the ability to reduce pressure. Lower pressures can improve traction, comfort and control while reducing energy losses caused by vibration on rough surfaces.
The ultra-wide rim platform is designed to support exactly this style of setup. It gives the tyre volume to work without sacrificing lateral stability.
System stability – BikeBeat SuperLight hubs
At the centre of the wheelset is the BikeBeat SuperLight Ratchet Straightpull hub platform. It combines direct power transfer, low weight and full serviceability in a system designed for demanding gravel use.
Bearings, freehub components and spokes remain individually serviceable, keeping the wheelset maintainable over the long term.
Built for fast gravel – not just gravel
The Gravel Speed AERO 55 is designed for riders who treat gravel as a performance discipline.
Fast races, long-distance events, open gravel roads and mixed-surface routes are where the combination of rim depth, tyre volume, stability and low system weight comes together.
It is not a road wheel adapted for gravel. It is a gravel speed platform designed around the demands of modern wide tyres.
Speed is a system
On gravel, performance is not defined by one number alone. Aerodynamics, tyre pressure, vibration control, grip, stability and weight all interact.
The Gravel Speed AERO 55 combines these factors in one exceptionally wide, deep and still lightweight wheel system.
