Every Certified Pre-Owned wheelset is fully inspected by BikeBeat before it is offered again. We check true running, centering, spoke tension, hubs, bearings, freehub and visual condition. Submit your purchase request and tell us your requirements and maximum total budget.
Certified Pre-Owned wheelsets may come from demos, tests, showroom use or selected pre-owned returns. Every wheelset is technically checked and approved by BikeBeat before sale.
For riders who refuse to compromise on performance.
930 grams that make a noticeable difference on the climbs
The decisive difference is not created on the flats – but exactly where the climb begins.
At just 930 g, the Maßstab SL – Hitoshi Edition is one of the lightest wheelsets with steel spokes in the world. This reduces rotating mass exactly where it has a direct impact on handling: with every acceleration, every change of pace and every meter of elevation.
The result is not an abstract weight advantage, but an immediate effect on the riding experience:
The bike responds more directly to your power input – without any noticeable delay between pressure on the pedal and forward motion.
- Instantly noticeable acceleration on climbs
- Reduced inertia on steep sections
- More efficient transfer of your power with every meter of elevation
Lightweight construction only makes sense if control is maintained
The Maßstab SL – Hitoshi Edition was developed for maximum efficiency on the climbs – not simply for impressive numbers on paper. Every gram was reduced exactly where it has a noticeable impact on acceleration and climbing performance in real-world riding conditions.
Built for riders who do not simply want to minimize weight, but turn it into real performance.
Less weight – more forward motion
With its 26 mm rim and 24 mm internal width, the system provides the ideal platform for modern tire widths and controlled handling – even on long climbs and changing surfaces. The asymmetric rim design ensures balanced spoke tension and high stability under load.
Even at its extremely low overall weight, the system remains precise and controllable – even under maximum power input.
Semi-Hook instead of compromise
The Hitoshi Edition deliberately uses a Semi-Hook construction instead of a pure Hookless system. This ensures secure tire retention while maintaining high flexibility for both tubeless and traditional tire setups. Especially at lower pressures and on long descents, the construction provides predictable handling and additional safety.
Steel spokes as a system choice
Lightweight construction does not automatically require specialized solutions. The high-quality SAPIM steel spokes were deliberately chosen: they offer excellent durability, can easily be replaced worldwide and can be re-trued without complications. The result is a system that is not only lightweight, but also remains serviceable for the long term.
The next generation of hubs – BikeBeat HyperLight
At the heart of the wheelset is the BikeBeat HyperLight Ratchet Straightpull Ceramic hub – developed for minimal friction, direct power transfer and long-term serviceability. Ceramic bearings reduce resistance within the system and provide smooth, efficient rotation under load.
Sustainability through serviceability
Every component remains replaceable over the long term. Spokes, bearings, cassette bodies and hub components are individually available – ensuring maximum service life and minimum downtime. Because performance should not end after one season.
Built for climbing – not for compromises
The Hitoshi Edition is not a universal all-round wheelset.
It was developed for riders who want to make every watt count on the climbs – during hill climbs, long ascents and intense efforts. This is where the combination of ultra-low weight, direct acceleration and controlled stability shows its full potential.
Performance that needs no explanation
Sometimes just a few hundred grams determine how directly a bike responds. Here, 930 grams is not a marketing figure – it is a difference you can feel from the very first acceleration.
